Google Voice is a phone call management system that is being tested by Google. It’s not a real product yet, and might never be released publicly, so access is limited. But you can get “invitations” to the beta test group. Visit the Google Voice Web site, or ask a current user.

This desktop application makes it very easy to keep Google Voice available at all times. This makes it much easier to use for quick text messages and the added convenience means you’ll use it more often.

I love Google Voice. There SMS feature truly got me into it. I can send free text messages to Bangladesh, India, and USA. It saves me some good money on my texting plan from Verizon Wireless because I can utilize that to text. I think Google always does a nice job of giving customers what they require and need. I have found in the future they are integrating Voice with the Android. Plus they bought a new VoIP company which they will incorporate with the other two to give some quality features. I need to get me a Androind now haha.
