Nokia is getting ready to release a Chinese version of Ovi Store, its own application store that was officially announced at the end of May.

Currently available only in five languages (English, Russian, Spanish, Italian and German), Nokia Ovi Store should be ready for Chinese mobile users before the end of 2009, allowing them to download applications directly on their phones.

There are about 180 million Nokia phone users in China, hence a Chinese Ovi Store will surely be successful.

Mobile internet usage is expected to grow quickly in China, as the country’s largest operators (China Mobile and China Telecom) are launching their 3G networks this year.

Nokia has also reconfirmed that it wants to introduce its first TD-SCDMA smartphone by the year’s end. There aren’t too many details about the handset, but we know that it should be a high-end Symbian S60 model and it will go on sale through China Mobile.
