Adware, virus help?

I have a dell computer with Windows Vista OS. Just recently my Internet Explorer started acting weird. When I go to a search engine and search for anything, for example, “dogs” and all the links come up and I click on the link it re-directs me to an advertisement page. Every single time I search it does this. I also am unable to download anything on IE and I have no other browser to use. I try to download an adware and virus remover and I can’t because nothing downloads. I try and download a new browser like Google Chrome or Firefox and it won’t let me. Please help me fix this problem and walk me through the steps of what to do

You can remove ad ware virus or other malicious program from your computer by following these steps .
1 Download and intall the Superantispyware on your computer .
2 Update your Superantispyware
3 Scan your computer for all the pop ups in your computer .
4 Remove all the malwares , found while scanning with the Superantispyware
5 Restart your computer .

Try to download the combofix freeware, as my laptop was acting like that and this fixed everything.
