What would be the benefits of the iPhone coming to Verizon?
Would the plan price be cheaper with more competition or is it just that Verizon generally has better service/signal? Would AT&T lower the plan prices to compete with Verizon? I was planning on getting in iPhone but I’m not sure if I should wait and see if Verizon gets it.
My main question is, if Verizon gets the iPhone too, will the price of my existing plan go down if AT&T starts dropping plan prices?

Yes, ditto what the first answerer said. Not sure if it will lower the plan prices, but it would give Verizon users another cool phone to compete with the Blackberry Storm and others.
Shame on companies that use “locked” phones. It’s a practice based on greed and not much more. (Especially US companies.)

I can’t say one way or the other. AT&T thought they would be be able to handle the iphones on their networks but with the amount of internet usage they are having to upgrade all their networks. So I would say that the only way you will probably get your answer is when it happens

When it comes to comparing plans and prices ATT and Verizon its the sames as comparing apples to apples. They are very similar. Currently both companies require you to have a 30 dollar data package on any new smartphone purchased. This includes everything from the rim company motorolla, samsung, and the iPhone. If Verizon were to get an iPhone of their very own they would not be competing in prices. Each phone company already has similar smartphones from the manufacturers. Ultimately the competition is in the service. ATT is known globally, where Verizon Is more prominent in the U.S. Even so, Verizon currently has a few million more customers than ATT. They were also ranked #1 in customer service by JDPower and Associates. Lastly, which this is very unfortunate I might add, the iPhone is still beyond any technology currently being produced, and the “best” phone company does not carry one.

It would make to the two companies compete from a cheaper plan
And Verizon is all over the country in service and customers.
You could wait but there is no deadlines so it will be awhile.
