chrome os29 im using a desktop os on a laptop, need display help?
ellizer asked:

it works fine, but when i’m on firefox (or google chrome or explorer) whenever i scroll it’s very very choppy. is there anyway to override the display settings to make the os fit more for a laptop? it’s an emachine os, meant for large desktops on an acer laptop.

please and thank you!

There is no difference between laptop and desktop OSes. And E-Machines are total piles of crap so your laptop is probably more powerful than that E-Machine ever was.

I’m willing to bet that you didn’t install the drivers after installing the OS. You need to install your display drivers to get it to stop being choppy. You should also install your other drivers as well.

There is no Laptop or desktop OS. they are exactly the same. what you need to do is install the drivers for the video card from your laptop maker’s website.

It doesn’t matter if the OS came with a Desktop. An OS and be used for laptop’s and desktop’s. If your browser’s are choppy then you might not have enough RAM or Hard drive space so your computer is slower. Try free some Hard drive space up or ending a few programs in the Task Manager that aren’t needed to free up RAM.
