IE, Firefox, Chrome all won’t load pages periodically?
I’m having a problem with all of my browsers. No matter which browser I use, I get the “cannot display page” (IE) or “address not found error” (Firefox). I have to hit refresh a few times, and the page will eventually load. The messed up part is that my other internet using programs (p2p, messenger, etc.) appear unaffected and the browser issues continue whether they are running or not.
So far, I have tried the following fixes:
-changed from wireless to LAN connection (no difference)
-bypassed my router and connected directly into the cable modem (no difference)
-disabled McAfee antivirus (no difference)
-made sure all firewalls are disabled (no difference)
-reinstalled Realtek LAN driver (no difference)
-restarted router and modem (no difference)
Can anyone help me? I am pretty much out of ideas, other than reinstalling the OS (Vista 32 bit).
*Update*
I uninstalled Daemon, and rebooted. No change ![]()
My system has a fair amount of resources to spare (CPU <10% at idle, and Mem <20% at idle, C2D & 2gigs of RAM), so that seems unlikely to be the cause.
*Update2*
I'm running spybot now, we'll see what it picks up.
The only firewill I have is the windows firewall that is disabled. (Not using ZA or anything, and I don't think McAfee has one)

It sounds like you’ve covered a lot of possible problems already. The only possible problem I would see would be to scan your computer for viruses or Spyware/Adaware. I suggest using Luke FileWalker and Spybot Search and Destroy. (See Sources).
Also you might want to try using a System Restore to a time when your browsers were okay. (See Sources.)
Also you might want to check if there are a lot of programs being used. Sometimes programs can slow down the computer so much that the Internet doesn’t get a chance to work.

Believe it or not, I had a similar problem a few days ago.
The problem was my firewall. Disabling the firewall didn’t work, so I uninstalled it and got the newest version and everything was back to normal. Try that, you may have the same problem.

Have you got Daemon Tools installed?
This crapped up my browsers, whilst applications that used the internet were untouched. Uninstalling it is likely to fix the problem right up.
