Best UK or international software for basic bookkeeping. I’m starting a business and will be doing the bookkeeping myself. Problem being I’ve never done it before!

Probably the most commonly used is Sage. Try this site for more info…http://www.sage.co.uk/productsandservices/home.aspx?tid=131865&stid=131870

I use Timesaver accounts fromRJ Software. It is designed for a retail business but could be used for other types of business they also have Timesaver Payroll.
I spend about 10 minutes per day entering data and then about one hour at year end to produce everything I need.

QuickBooks Simple Start if you don’t have payroll or inventory. You can download a free demo here

QuickBooks Pro if you have either or both of the above.
