sside_chicago asked:

I just got a Samsung MP3 player and am starting to convert my CDs to MP3s (or WMAs). What is the best/easiest software to use?

Some have suggested Musicmatch, others have suggested Windows Media Player or Itunes. I have a PC.

Thanks!

Although most music programs typically have the same features, I have found iTunes to be my favorite. As far as converting songs to MP3s (and other common formats) you simply highlight the songs you want converted, right click, and select “convert to MP3″. It automatically creates an MP3 file in the same place the original file was. Also, when importing, it can automatically create folders, which has helped when organizing my music. Another feature I enjoy is the “Show duplicate songs” where it will automatically pull up songs you have more than one copy of, so you wont be wasting space on your comptuer. Hope this helps!

Try Yahoo! Music Engine. I think it works pretty well and is probably going to give you an easier time compatibility wise than ITunes. Apple doens’t make it very easy to work with other players besides and Ipod. good luck.

IMO, I find iTunes to be very effective, it creates a folder for each artist and then in those a folder for each album. Very neat, but kinda long to navigate through via Windows, but very easy to use via iTunes.

You should use the one that works best with your Samsung player. I don’t know this for sure, but I would guess that that would be Windows Media Player, which is a good choice. If you want to just manually move the music over to the player, then it does not really matter and you can use iTunes, which is very good IMHO. But stay clear Yahoo! Music Engine! It is buggy and annoying. I was using their music ‘rental’ service which is cheap, but the Yahoo! Music Engine is terrible. I dumped it and went to iTunes and now buy cheap CDs (from yourmusic.com).

the answer would definitely have to be itunes. its so easy to find stuff, you can just type what youre looking for into the search area, and it brings it right up. very easy to organize too.
