my frnd told me that he had ordered ubuntu linux operating system (open source) via internet?
The cd came frm foriegn country to his home in INDIA.
Can u pls give me the link for ordering that.
And are there any other opensource os that we can get in this manner.
Pls give me the details and also links corresponding to them.

Most Linux or Linux variant operating systems are free. There is no need to order them, you can download them and burn them yourself.

Its is possible to get free Linux versions online !
Linux is free… so u can download any linux for free !
Some big giants like ubuntu also bear the cost of the CD & Shipping for their product to boom !
So Yes u can get these free……

Yep, Canonical the official sponsor of the Ubuntu Linux ships free OS CDs worldwide. You can get them @ for Ubuntu CDs and for Kubuntu, KDE variant of this same distro.
