Anyone know of a multi-track audio editing program like Multiquence ( http://www.goldwave.com/mqfeatures.php ) only opensource and/or free? Video functionality would be nice too but not necessary.

I have the Multiquence demo but it’s limited to < 30 second file output and recording through the microphone is tedious.

Not sure if this might be what you are looking for, there is a free trial – RecordForAll – was voted the best audio software for 2007
Give RecordForAll a try you can overlay tracks and add effects.

You may be able to find something on zdnet.com or downloads.com — but most of those “free” programs are trial programs that are only free for a limited trial period.
