What is the best book or software to learn German?
I really want to learn German. I enrolled in a class, but it was canceled because there weren’t enough people interesting. So, does anyone know any good books/software or anything? Or can tell me ones that aren’t that good? Thanks!

,,,Besides Rosetta, try free downloads from transparent.com, byki.com, about, com. Cheaper than Rosetta and just as good.

German is my mother tongue but my boyfriend is American and tried to learn German with Rosetta Stone. He didn’t make it. As I couldn’t make it for Arabic or Hebrew.
Also Rosetta Stone “tries” to teach you a language the way a child would learn it (although children start learning a language when their are not even born!) but that also takes you a long time and you need to be very patient.
I can recommend a German kind of travel dictionary to begin. The same publisher offers different languages – it is “Kauderwelsch – Wort für Wort.”
It is really good to start and get into the language, they also offer cds.
Besides I would advise you to start talking to a native speaker because that was the way I learned English, actually. You need to practice every day, otherwise you won’t make it.
