OpenSource Book/Novel?
Anybody be interested in starting an open source community for a book. Would be kind of unique. Everybody gives ideas, ideas get chosen, then more ideas put forward for the plot. SLowly the ideas are enough to build a whole story from it. In the end a community creates the story instead of just one single author.
Only problem would be writing styles if there was multiple people actually writing it.
Any ideas, feedback much appreciated.

This idea looks like trouble to me… reasons:
1. Many aspiring writers don’t like to share ideas.
2. Who is the person(s) who would do the part where: “…ideas get chosen…”? and How would that be done?
3. It could turn into a form of the ‘telephone (or ‘secret’) game’ wherein a person’s idea is misunderstood, and things only get worse from there.
4. A community can then do nothing with the story except enjoy it, unless one claims it and tries to publish.
5. No one in this community would have a copyright except on his/her own idea, which leaves any resulting story with no copyright on it, unless/until a nefarious person (not yourself) steals the whole kit and caboodle as a story by only him/herself.
6. Interesting, but I’m afraid this idea won’t fly.

The ownly other problem I can see with it its who gets credit for all the work. You could have huge arguments from people who think they are not getting what they diserve. Also other people might rip off peoples ideas for school projects You would need to have better security
but I would love to help out with someting like that
Tell me everything you have in mind and I can work with you.
