How do I make a “PC-like” task bar on my Mac?

I like having the dock to keep my program shortcuts in, but I’d also like to have it hidden so that I don’t keep accidentally opening up stuff with miss-clicks. But I need the dock because I’m very dependent on a task bar to show me what’s running and so that I can flip between programs easily. Is there any compromise of the two? Is there a way I could download some task bar add-on or opensource something? Thanks

Hello,
Well, I’m not aware of any such applications, and doubt if any exist because most people simply prefer using Expose instead of having a taskbar. I use active corners (–activate-your-screen-corners-253490.php )and I have my bottom left corner as the expose corner, so if I want to see all my open windows, I just take my mouse over there and expose shows me all the windows I’ve opened.
I think there was such an application for Mac OS 9, but it probably won’t work in OS X.
Hope this helps!
