What is the best software for detecting porn and junk that we don’t need our kids to see online?
I have used K9 but not to happy with it because of one example when I set it to allow MySpace, it still blocks it. I am looking for software that I can purchase that even blocks nasty word descriptions when you are entering a search into Google for example. I am so tired of the porn and junk online and sitting over my sons shoulders while he is online.

There is a web browser call, it is an add on to Firefox, you add it, it will work fine and well. i am using it and it is well.

Use K9 blocker, blocks certain terms you want / blocks certain websites you want / blocks a whole category of a certain item by your choice.
I’d recommend you use Mozilla Firefox
Install the ad blocker for it (to stop porn ads)
Right, now it’s time to install K9 Filter from Blue coat.
A license will be emailed to you in about a minute.
Then install this.
You will be asked for about one or two passwords doing the install including the license.
1) One password is so your kids can’t uninstall the filter without it
2) The 2nd password is to enter the K9 control panel to configure the filter.
It’s been a while, either point one and two I stated use the same password, or they use 2 different ones, I can’t remember.
Anyway, it’s really really good software, loads on computer boot for all browsers.

I haven’t got it yet myself but I have been looking at BSafe online filter. The website is. It looks like it is also an anti-virus system as well as a customizable filter.
