What is the best training software for getting your pilots license?
I need to find the best software for learning to fly to reduce ground school cost. I have heard that sporties and king has the best but would like more opinions.

Videos, rather than software. The Kings are kind of weird, but after you get used to them, their videos are probably the best.
But nothing beats real flight time.

i like the videos –
you can learn some navigation from the flight sim packages – like microsofts flight sim. you can use your charts, and tune frequencies, etc.
in the end, it is the instructor, and reading, and understanding what is told to you – never be in a hurry, work through each procedure – aviate, navigate, communicate!!

I used Cessna’s pilot training course. It is actually done by the Kings though. It was a fun course and I scored high the written.

I think either one of those are great. Both have turned out a lot of successful candidates. I am mentoring two guys right now who are getting their licenses. Both chose Kings and both passed their written with very high scores.
I don’t know about Sportys for sure but Kings has a pretty good deal on some of their training videos. If you buy them and then an update comes out later on (such as their Garmin GPS training videos), they will often furnish them to you at no extra charge. John and Martha have built an excellent reputation and their videos are also entertaining.
