First of all, Norton and mcafee are both WAY overrated, especially Norton, and are resource hogs. Try all these. Note: you have to purchase Avast! professional as the Home Edition does not give you rights to use it commercially.
To get rid of most viruses, worms, adware, etc.
Step 1.
Download Avast! Home Edition as this is THE best free antivirus protection out there. (For you, you must download the professional edition.) It isn’t a resourse hog and it scans everything your computer writes and reads as well as internet sites and emails. I love it. As well they update it about every day!
It found several viruses after I deleted Norton 360 and has found several since.
Download here for professional:
Register here for professional:
Note: you have a 60 day free trial of avast! professional before you must purchase a license key, which I recommend.
Step 2.
As well try downloading malwarebytes anti-malware, updating, and scanning.
MBAM redirects you here for download. (MBAM) Go here to download:
Step 3.
Proceed by downloading “SuperAntiSpyware Free” from the link below (As the title suggests, this is also free), follow any
instructions required to install it, update the virus definitions, then run a full scan, also clean any infections found
after the scan has completed.
Step 4.
You may also consider to be sure that all Malware has been removed from your system download “Kaspersky’s Virus Removal Tool” (Free) from the link
below and run a full scan, this will already be updated to the day you download and install it, after the scan clean any
infections found. download here
Step 5.
Consider doing a scan of your computer with MBAM and superantispyware every 2-4 weeks with a maximum of a system scan every month. (I recommend 2-3 weeks.)
P.S. make sure to unistall all other antivirus products before installing avast and never have more than one installed at a time.
Hope this helps and enjoy a better computer!

I did test several different internet security programs over the last 12 months.
Here is my top 3
3rd place – Bitdefender Total Security – good – 8 out of 10
2nd place – Panda Internet Security 2009 – very good 8 ½ out of 10
1st place and in my opinion the best is
ESET Smart Security.- did find infections
the other programs missed – very good 9 out of 10
For some extra protection you could install these 2 free very good programs
Threatfire is an anti virus, that can be installed next to any other anti virus program on the same computer
This is a very good program, that completely runs in the background

Eset Nod 32 has a
Business Edition that works very well. It’s always in the top 3 in protection ability and detection rates.
To supplement Nod32 i would use Malwarebytes paid edition as it scans in real time.

Norton 360 v2 is the best. It is fast and barely effects the boot speed. You can buy it for like $60.00-$80.00. Email me, I have it for free. 3 yr unlimited computers. About 60mb. Also, if you want another anti-virus program, I have that as well.

If you are only using a few computers the best value might be a home/ small office package rather than one dedicated for commercial use. All of the major companies do free time-limited trials (most of them are 30 days, but 15 days for Norton and Webroot). See for reviews, comparisons and links to manufacturers download sites. Follow the links to buy or download a free trial.
Hope this helps

Hello i am so delighted I found your blog, I really found you by mistake, while I was searching Yahoo for something else. Anyway I am here now and would just like to say thanks for a tremendous blog posting and a all round interesting blog (I also love the theme/design). I do not have time to read it all at the moment but I have bookmarked it and also added your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read more.

Norton 360. Or Spy Sweeper. Norton 360 fixes everything.
