also whats the difference between kubuntu and Ubuntu 7.04 as they both are feelin like the same to meh, i never tried them out ….please explain …..
what abt beryl, i have to download and install inorder get the effects ? can anyone provide me a direct link for beryl and its all extras …i saw beryl on web and didnt know what is what and what to download !

I have tried all of the systems mentioned and I personally think Ubuntu 7.04 is the best.
Easy to use and good help forums.

Kubuntu uses the KDE desktop, Ubuntu uses Gnome.

Both are free LIVE CDs, so give them a try.

Solaris is not a good starting point for Linux Newbies, IMHO.
