How to watch a (short) clip, using a loop view with VLC? No streaming, I simply mean a video from a Hard Drive?

I found nothing in VLC Settings and… googleing it can’t easily be found anything satisfying concerned about it.
For istance, QuickTime offers the possibility to find such a function in one intuitive way, it’s quite strange that such an opensource project like VideoLan has such a kind of inaccuracy. May it be possible that it shows a lack like this? It’s very strange, since it can virtually be done almost anything with VLC… Thanks everyone in advance.
